ABS has good electrical insulation and is almost impervious to temperature, humidity and frequency, and can be used in most environments.
Environmental performance
ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salt, alkali and a variety of acids, but soluble in ketones, aldehydes, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, which are subjected to corrosion by glacial acetic acid, vegetable oil and so on.The resistance of ABS is poor, and it is easy to degrade under ultraviolet light.After six months outdoors, the impact strength drops by half.
The processing property of ABS plastic
ABS is a kind of thermoplastic plastic with excellent processing performance, which can be processed by general machining methods.
ABS melt fluidity is better than PVC and PC, but worse than PE, PA and PS, similar to POM and HIPS;The flow characteristics of ABS are non-newtonian fluids;The melt viscosity is related to the processing temperature and the shear rate, but is more sensitive to the shear rate.
The thermal stability of ABS is not easy to be degraded.ABS has a high water absorption rate and should be dried before processing.General product drying conditions for temperature of 80 ~ 85 ℃, time of 2 ~ 4 h.The special requirements of products, such as electroplating drying conditions for temperature 70 ~ 80 ℃, time of 18 ~ 18 h.ABS products are easy to produce internal stress in processing, and the internal stress can be tested by immersion in glacial acetic acid.Such as the stress is too big and products on stress cracking is forbidden, should carry on the annealing treatment, specific conditions for put in 70 ~ 80 ℃ hot air circulation drying oven within 2 ~ 4 h, then cool to room temperature.
