Determination of tensile shear strength of adhesive

2018 02/09

1. Scope of application

The method of determination of the tensile shear strength of metal bonding adhesive at room temperature is provided.This standard applies to regulations

The standard test samples for preparation and testing.

GB 7124-1986 is equivalent to ISO 4587-1979 "adhesives - high strength adhesives for drawing and cutting.

The determination of intensity.

Principle 2.

The sample is a single-lap structure.The longitudinal tensile shear force is applied on the landing surface of the specimen, and the maximum of the specimen can be measured

The load.The average shear stress on the lap joint is the tensile shear strength of the adhesive.

3. The device

3.1 testing machine

The test machine used should make the sample damage load between 15% and 85% of the full load.The force value of the testing machine is shown

The value error should not be greater than 1%.

The test machine should be equipped with a sample holder with an automatic core to keep the force line consistent with the center line of the sample.

The test machine shall ensure that the moving speed of the sample holder is stable at 5 mm/min.

3.2 measuring tool

The measuring accuracy of the length and width of the test sample is not less than 0.05mm.

3.3 the fixture

The clamping fixture should be able to ensure that the samples meet the requirements of article 4.

(note: the test sample and sample holder can also be used for pin and hole connection when the metal plate is not damaged.But it cannot be used for arbitration.

4.sample

4.1 unless otherwise specified, the specimen shall conform to the shape and size of figure 1.The matching length of the standard specimen is (12.5)

0.5mm, the thickness of the sheet metal is 0.1mm and the thickness of the sheet is 0.1mm.Connect the sample

The thickness of the length or the sheet of metal will affect the test results.

4. 2. Ly12-cz aluminum alloy, 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel, 45 carbon steel and T2 copper are recommended.

4.The number of samples should not be less than five.The number of samples shall not be less than ten.

Note: 1. For the high strength gel, if the side test results in metal material yield or damage, the thickness of metal sheet may be increased or the length of lap length can be reduced. The former is better.

2. The stress of the metal sheet during the test shall not exceed the yield strength sigma s. The thickness of the metal sheet can be calculated according to the following formula:

T = lg tau sigma/s

In the formula: t a sheet metal thickness, mm;

L 1 specimen lap length, mm;

Tensile shear strength of tau 1 adhesive, Mpa;

Sigma s - yield strength of metal material, MPa.

5.Sample preparation

5.1. The sample can be prepared with no slot (as shown in figure 2) or as shown in FIG. 3 with the slot.

The metal surface of the adhesive shall be flat surface, and should not be bent, warp, skew and so on.There should be no burrs,

Keep the edges at right angles.

5.3 adhesion of metal pieces, the ratio of adhesives, the amount of glue, the number of glue and the time of drying, etc

The curing temperature, pressure and time of adhesive can be carried out according to the use of adhesive.

5.4 preparation samples should be used with fixtures to ensure proper alignment and accurate positioning of samples.

5.5 to prevent the sample from overheating when cutting the adhesive plate, try to avoid the adhesive seams.

6. Test conditions

Unless otherwise specified, the parking time and test conditions of the sample should meet the following requirements.

6.1 the shortest time to test after sample preparation is 16h, and the longest time is one month.

6.2 test shall be carried out in the environment of the temperature of 2312 ℃.An arbitration test or a sensitive adhesive for temperature and humidity

Should be at a temperature of 23 and 2 ℃, relative humidity 45% ^ - 55% of the environment.

6.3 on the test of temperature requirements only, the test samples should be parked at the test temperature for less than half an hour at the test temperature;To have a

The temperature and humidity requirements are tested, and the pre-test sample should not be less than 16h in the test environment.

7. Test procedures

7.1. Measure the length and width of the specimen by using the measuring sample, and accurately reach 0.05mm.

7. 2. The sample is sandwiched between the upper and lower clamps, and the distance between the holder and the holder is 50.

7. 3 start the testing machine and load it at a steady speed in 5 men 1 mm/min.Record the maximum negative of shear failure

Acknowledge.Record of the type of adhesive damage (internal polymerization, adhesion destruction, metal damage).

8. Test results

8.1. The tensile shear strength of adhesive for metal bonding is calculated according to the following formula:

Tau = P/B * L

In the formula: the tensile shear strength of tau 1 adhesive, MPa;

P - maximum load of shear failure of specimen; N;

B - the width of the sample lap, mm;

L - specimen lap length, mm.

8.2 test results are indicated by the arithmetic mean, maximum and minimum of shear strength.Take three valid digits.

9.Test report

The test report shall include the following:

A. Type and batch number of adhesive;

B. Type, thickness and surface treatment of metal materials;

C. The preparation method of sample preparation (without groove slab, grooved slab, single chip) and adhesive technology;

D. Length of specimen lap;

E. sample quantity;

F. Test results (arithmetic mean, maximum, minimum);

G. The type and quantity of damage of samples;

H. The average thickness of the rubber layer;

I. Differ from this standard.
